A $2.7 million project involving complete redesign of the department to expand capacity of 18 to a 30-bed unit, this challenging construction was completed in 2 phases during existing 24-hour operation. Greater efficiency and improved visibility, as well as larger visitor waiting areas are enhanced through the use of soft, curved design elements with translucent materials and soothing colors.
