Calamityville is a campus dedicated to bringing together academic, military and commercial interests for the purpose of preparing and educating decision makers during a disaster or other complex rescue situations. Wright State University’s School of Medicine and its National Center for Medical Readiness are the driving forces in the development of Calamityville, one of a few highly-specialized settings of this sort in the United States and the first in our region. The site will support training for medical first responders with disaster props designed for teaching and learning.
The site masterplan will be implemented in four stages. Three masterplan concept alternatives were studied.
