Fully renovated with a new 24,000 sf addition, Kilgour School retained its classic 1922 colonial façade with stately portico, successfully blending old and new. Restored skylights brighten the hallways with natural light, while the classroom spaces have been renovated to include up-to-date technology. Located on a seven-acre site adjacent to residential property and a park-like ravine, site circulation and parking were improved. A sunken landscape courtyard off the existing basement cafeteria can be used as an outdoor learning space. A full-size gymnasium and additional classrooms occupy the addition, which frames the third side of the open courtyard.
